History

In November, 1955, the laboratories were established in Tokyo and Osaka as an inspection division of “All-Japan Margarine Society (Foundation)”. In June, 1970, The inspection division parted from the All-Japan Margarine Society, and became independent as a foundation of “Japanese Margarine Inspection Society”. In December, 1972, the predecessor of current association renamed itself to “Japan Institute of Oils & Fats, Other Foods Inspection, Foundation” and began various inspection business for processed oils, fats and foods.

  1. Authorization business of manufacturing industry of edible and organic processed oil & fats, based on "Law Concerning Standardization and Proper Labeling of Agricultural and Forestry Products". (A trust examination and its proof of the materials relevant to the authorization of the manufacturer of edible processed fat products, the edible processed fat products, the other processed foods, and this based on Law Concerning Standardization and Proper Labeling of Agricultural and Forestry Products.)

Inspection

Certification issuance

Certification is issued after inspection.
Certification is normally in Japanese, in a sheet of 1 set.
English certification is also issued when requested (with extra charge).

Payment

Certification is send with the bill. (The advance payment is applied only for your first-time inspection request.)
Surcharge is applied for the rush inspection request.
"Discount System" may be applied when multiple samples are requested for inspection for continuous period. Please consult when requesting.
Publishing of inspection result
Please request for approval from the association when you plan to print or publish the certificate issued.

Confidential information hold
As a rule, the remaining sample after inspection is not sent back. Please consult when requesting for the returning of remaining sample.
Strict secrecy will be observed for the results of the inspection.
The Association holds no responsibility for any economical issues arise from the inspection results.
